Group re-read of The Magicians

Following a discussion in the IRC channel, a group of us plan to read/re-read The Magicians. We'll be reading three to five chapters a week, depending on what people are capable of, and holding discussions here, on facebook and on IRC

Week One - 7th to 13th March 2016
Chapters one through three - Brooklyn, Brakebills, Elliot.

Week Two - 14th to 20th March 2016
Chapters four through six - Magic, Snow, The Missing Boy

Week Three - 21st to 27th March 2016
Group poll to determine whether to increase the chapters per week.


As a side project, whilst re-reading the books some of us will also be contributing to the The Magicians Wiki. All users are actively encouraged to make contributions.

This post will be updated weekly with upcoming chapters and information for people participating in the re-read.

Oh, it might be useful to include a list of who's reading/re-reading, too.

Just over ten weeks if we stick to only 3 chapters per week. The other books would probably take about as long if we read at the same speed. I think 5 chapters a week is attainable for most readers though, so after a few weeks we might be able to pick up the pace.

Edit: there are 25, 26 and 31 chapters in each book, respectively.

Oh, that's doable. I really want to participate, but my reading schedule for grad school is a pain right now. I can work that in, I think.

Hello Free Traders, sorry for the delay in getting the discussion started for the first 3 chapters. Because I'm so late getting us started, I'm going to merge the first 6 chapters into one large discussion, assuming nobody has any objections.
