Are you excited? I'm excited!

Well, I've watched three episodes so far and I'm very much approving. Though what happens in the third episode took me a little by surprise.

Looking forward to the fourth episode tonight! How are you liking it?

I'm enjoying it a lot! I kinda went in to it looking at it like a gradschool AU, and to be honest, it's fulfilling *all* of my expectations. I like how the characters are working out, and although we're missing a lot of internal monologue I feel like the visuals more than make up for it. I'm especially loving the hand choreography for spellwork.

The hand choreography is cool and after watching the fourth episode, which has to be the best one so far, I'm stuck between Alice and Marina for my favourite characters.

When it comes to the internal monologue - and I have this conversation with a lot of people who compare books to the films & TV shows they are based on - my theory is that some things just don't translate well from a book to the screen. There has to be some differences, what matters is that those differences are done well.

Alice was always my favourite character in the book but in the TV show, there's just something about Marina that draws me to her. Looking forward to seeing where the story goes next in episode five!

Oh my god, this episode!

Quite aside from everything else, can we talk about the last 30 seconds, because holy shit! I feel like x-ing through the stars was a really great visual metaphor for being cast out. Is this how we finally meet the free traders?? I really hope next episode is super julia-centric.

Snap! Just remembering (and forgive me where I go wrong) the journey she took before finding FTB and how much my heart went out to her trying to find herself. I hope we get the same level of emotion from Julia in the TV show.

Also, is it really picky of me to hope that Bach features in there somewhere? I love his music...

Yes! I'm hoping to see more of Julia, and yes yes yes!!! Bach would be perfect. I kinda like where the story is going right now, with her sister showing up, though. I feel like that could go to some interesting places.

Also: the Beast in Elliot's boyfriend? Not sure how I feel about that.

It's OK and as do I. I loved the Mayakovsky episode, watching the relationship between Alice and Quentin blossom.

Julia's sister turning up is indeed an interesting plot twist. Wonder how long it'll be before she finds out what Julia is a part of and what has happened to her...

What puzzles you about the Beast situation? I don't really have an opinion one way or the other, I'm just taking the story as it comes. I'm just interested to find out what you think.
